European Cricket Is Improving Fast, and It's Time the ECB Took Notice

European cricket is improving year on year, and the growth is starting to show at the international level. Teams outside the traditional Full Member nations are putting together competitive performances more consistently than before.

There is a genuine case for the European Cricket Council, working alongside the ECB, to push for an Asia Cup-style tournament for the continent. A regular, high-profile event would give emerging teams a reason to keep improving and a stage to show it.

A tournament featuring Spain, England, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy would give European cricket the structure it currently lacks. The talent pool is growing; what's missing is a consistent platform to match it.
